On 24 September, we hosted “Agentic Coding with Frontier and Open Source AI Models” at our office, a technical meetup led by our colleague Bogdan Opritescu.
The session explored how AI is changing the way developers approach software engineering, with a particular focus on the tools and development practices emerging around agentic coding.
Bogdan took us through Agentic Tooling, including Skills, MCPs, LSPs and Harnesses, and discussed how these components can support increasingly capable AI-assisted development workflows.
The conversation also covered Spec-Driven Development and Test-Driven Development, looking at how structured specifications and testing practices fit into development workflows where AI agents take a more active role.
Another important part of the meetup was the comparison between frontier AI models available through cloud platforms and open-source models that can be run locally. The session looked at the different approaches available to engineering teams and what it takes to host and work with AI models within your own environment.
The technical discussion continued after the presentation, giving everyone the opportunity to exchange ideas, questions and experiences around a field that is evolving remarkably quickly.
A big thank you to Bogdan Opritescu for leading the session and to everyone who joined us!
