Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years with Java and 3+ years with Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, system-to-system integrations and enterprise integration patterns.
- 2+ years with Oracle Database and SQL, including exposure to PL/SQL.
- 2+ years with Apache Kafka or similar messaging/event-driven technologies.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, Git, Gradle and shell scripting.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito or equivalent testing frameworks.
- Good understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, API security and authentication/authorization.
- Experience with JSON, XML and SOAP integrations.
- Strong understanding of synchronous, asynchronous and event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience with card-processing or card-management integrations and 2+ years with card issuing, acquiring, authorization or transaction-processing platforms.
- Proven experience integrating with Visa and/or Mastercard services, interfaces or certification flows.
- Practical knowledge of ISO 8583, card lifecycle management, tokenization and payment processing.
- Understanding of authorization, clearing, settlement and reconciliation, as well as EMV and card-scheme certification processes.
- Experience with payment gateways, card switches or card-management platforms is highly relevant.
- Banking, payments, financial services or other regulated-industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with ELK, Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot or other enterprise GenAI tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with a high level of autonomy and commitment to software quality and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Java 17+ / Spring Boot backend services for card and payment ecosystems.
- Design and implement secure, reusable REST APIs and enterprise integrations using JSON, XML and SOAP where required.
- Build integrations with Visa, Mastercard, payment gateways, card switches and card-management platforms.
- Develop solutions supporting card issuing, acquiring, authorization, transaction processing, tokenization, clearing, settlement and reconciliation.
- Implement synchronous, asynchronous and event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka or equivalent technologies.
- Apply secure coding, clean code, performance and software design best practices.
- Implement OAuth 2.0/JWT-based authentication and authorization.
- Develop unit and component tests and participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
- Containerize applications with Docker and support delivery through Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes using Git, Gradle, GitHub Actions or equivalent tooling.
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing and diagnostics using ELK, Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
- Identify and resolve scalability, reliability and performance issues during development and testing.
- Maintain technical documentation, API specifications and implementation notes.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, QA engineers and development teams to deliver reliable, reusable enterprise solutions.
- Use approved Generative AI tools responsibly for development, testing and documentation, validating all generated output.
